Nearly a year of healing later, sitting with Kambo again, I heard the call. Answering that call, I headed to the Peruvian Amazon to train with Kambo Naturista, a deeply knowledgeable and respected practitioner and purveyor of Indigenous knowledge, and an elder from the Matsés tribe, whom have practiced Kambô for generations.

There, two hours up the Amazon River from the jungle-surrounded city of Iquitos, I completed a Kambo dieta, a traditional process of deep immersion in the medicine that allowed me to fully connect with the Kambo spirit and receive its blessings to serve as a healer. My training included night-treks into the jungle to find the sacred Kambo frogs with the Matsés elder. My first and following interactions with the frog deeply moved me. It was calm and trusting, as if it knew and understood its healing purpose in this world. What an honor to hold this creature, and what a blessing to receive this sacrament from mother nature herself. This experience further deepened my connection to Kambo and grounded my belief in its powerful healing properties. 

I am now in humble service to this powerful medicine, using the knowledge and wisdom I have gained from my experiences in the Amazon to help others find connection, balance and healing harmony.
