Kambo is a rapid and powerful treatment, with effects lasting only 20-40 minutes.
Firstly, a hot stick is used to dot and remove the top layer of skin. These entry points, referred to as "gates," vary in number and location depending on the individual's needs. Kambo is then administered onto the gates.
The effects of Kambo are felt almost immediately as it enters the lymphatic system, causing a warm flush and increased heart rate. While some people may feel dizzy, others may experience skin tingling or swollen lips or face. Kambo scans the body for problems and goes straight to work on those areas, producing a throbbing or burning sensation in the affected areas.Kambo's detoxification process leads to purging of toxins on both physical and emotional levels, sometimes causing abdominal discomfort and a need to defecate. Afterward, you may feel tired and require rest, but within an hour, you typically feel significantly better and can resume eating and drinking normally.
Within a day, you will start to feel the real benefits of Kambo, depending on depending on your state of health.

This completely depends on the individual. The number of sessions will largely depend on your health issue, intention, and/or goal for taking Kambo.
I always recommend one treatment to develop a relationship and gain familiarity with the process. One session can be a good indicator of the necessity of multiple applications.
For deep cleansing and detox, it is suggested to consider commiting to at least 3 sessions. These sessions can be performed intensely over a few days or spread out over a month depending on the client.
While it can be beneficial to receive multiple sessions, there is no evidence or research proving that it is necessary to receive three sessions in a moon cycle for efficacy.
Do not discount or overlook the potency of just one single treatment.

The Kambo experience lasts 20-40 minutes. A private Kambo ceremony lasts one hour. Group circles may last up to 2-3 hours.

Initially, the body will heat up, and the skin, especially the face and chest, will turn red. The heart rate will increase, and one may experience ringing in the ears or become more aware of their heartbeat. This will be followed by a brief drop in blood pressure, which may be pleasurable to some. After this, there will be a return to normal blood pressure, and nausea and purging are likely to occur. The purging may begin as mostly water, followed by yellow bile, and finally a thicker, sweeter bile with less water. The entire process typically lasts 20-40 minutes. After the points are removed, a person can expect to return to normal relatively quickly.

Yes, Kambo is completely safe when used properly under the care of a trained practitioner.
However there are some conditions for which Kambo is contraindicated, listed below. This is not an exhaustive list so its important to inform your practitioner of all medication, supplements and any other substances taken in the six months months prior. Also know that mental illnesses are important to discuss with the practitioner prior to the session. Suitability for Kambo ultimately depends on the holistic constitution of the person receiving Kambo.
You cannot take Kambo if you:
• Have serious heart problems.
• Are on medication for low blood pressure.
• Have had a stroke.
• Have had a brain haemorrhage.
• Have an aneurism or blood clots.
• Lack the mental capacity to make the decision to take Kambo.
• Have serious mental health problems excluding depression, PTSD and anxiety.
• Are undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy or for 4 weeks afterwards.
• Take immune-suppressants for organ transplant.
• Have Addison’s Disease
• Have low levels of cortisol in the blood
• Have current and severe Epilepsy
• Are recovering from a major surgical procedure
• Have used Bufo in the past 4 weeks
• Are under 18 years old
• Are pregnant or maybe so or are breast-feeding a child under 6 months old
Please disclose all health complications to your practitioner before using Kambo.

The short answer is no. The experience after receiving Kambo is completely dependent upon the individual. Most report feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and lighter.
One thing to consider is what is known as the Herxheimer reaction. This simply means that sometimes one will feel worse before feeling better as things move through the system.
Often, there is a burst of energy and drive. However, it is recommended to allow time after a session with no scheduled obligations or commitments (physical or mental), at least for the rest of the day, to allow time for integration and rest.
-
Kambo contains multiple bioactive peptides that positively affect the human body. If you consider the beliefs of the indigenous tribes, one session can lift bad luck, create space to find a lover, increase fertility, increase skill in hunting wild game by increasing sensory perception, or increase drive and stamina, along with many other benefits.
-
Every Kambo session is different. Sometimes you may feel alert and energised, other times you may feel emotionally drained and exhausted.
It is recommended to give yourself the time to integrate our session and rest after.

No, only the first layer of skin is removed via the small burns or “gates” made. Kambo enters through the lymphatic system and no blood is involved.
-
Kambo points gradually fade over time, the degree of scarring depends on the location and individual skin reactions. To aid in healing and prevent infection, a natural antibacterial tree sap called Sangre de Drago or Dragon's Blood is applied to the skin openings after the session.
Many wear their Kambo scars as a badge of honour, but I respect the preferences of those who wish to minimize scarring and will take appropriate measures to accommodate your needs.

No, Kambo is not toxic to the human system. Kambo is not a poison. While the term "poison" may be used incorrectly due to the purging effect it can cause, Kambo is actually a secretion containing powerful bioactive peptides that have many beneficial effects on the human body and its systems. In fact, pharmaceutical companies have identified and recreated over 70 of these peptides synthetically.
-
No, Kambo is non-psychoactive, and will not get you high. Research into Kambo by the FDA concluded it is not psychoactive, which is also supported by the International Association of Kambo Practitioners.
-
No, I source my Kambo directly from the Matsés tribe elder and family I trained with in the Peruvian Amazon.
Frogs are treated with respect and kindness. They pick up to frog by letting it walk onto a stick. With no skin to skin contact they tie the frog with string or vine to hold it while they gently scape the secretion off their backs. Afterwards the frogs usually hang around with no rush to leave, then they are put back into the jungle. The string/vine leaves a little mark on the frog, this means the tribe can tell if Kambo has been collected or not. The Matsés tribe never over harvest from the frogs. A frog will not be re-harvested until the vine mark has disappeared.

It is believed that the first scientist to bring Kambo into a lab was Vittorio Erspamer, from Italy. He described Kambo as “a fantastic chemical cocktail with potential medical applications, unequaled by any other amphibian.” Today, over three decades of research prove that Kambo can be of great benefit to the human body. This extraordinary “chemical cocktail” of bioactive peptides benefits the body in many positive ways.
